Day 15 The Other Woman on the move

Well, this must be a dream, up early 3 days in a row ,a trip to the casino,breakfast
bus fueled, and on the road by 8  !!!!  This has been a great scenic trip, with only
a couple hick-ups!!! My co-pilot says she came out ahead at the Casino's and the
bus  ran great  Great Trip

Day 14 The Other Woman on the move

Wow , another early start for us, just unheard of !!! rolled out of the Redding  Elks
before the sun could get in our eyes and  the weather was still cool. Traffic was
lite ,so we just rolled along with our car full of booze , rolled into 7 feathers just
in time for lunch, as the trees are getting bigger in the RV park we were able to get
a spot with SAT reception, I don't know why it was so important, the bus was still
rolling and my co-pilot was gone in a little green van with Casino on the side and
its after midnight now, maybe I should have fueled the bus before we parked !!

Day 13 The Other Woman on the move

Today was a better day 229 miles, put us in Redding Elks in time for lunch. The
scenery was a little better to, with a few trees and brush along the way. Wasn't
quite so hot until we got down in the Redding valley.
Hope to get a early start in the morning , I almost feel like a booze runner with the
toad loaded full of Calif Whisky the old bus is going to have to work a lot harder
on those hills !!!! Plan to stop at 7 Feathers, I think my co-pilot wants to help the
Indians remodel the casino!!!
The earliest that we could get into the Eugene glass shop that we wanted to stop
at was the 1st of Oct so we are heading on home and hope the duct tape holds !!!!

Day 12 The Other woman on the move

What a hot boring day, we drove 537 miles trying to get out of  NV, don't
know why anybody would want to live there unless your hiding from the
law !!! Will head for Susanville in the morning and drop down to Redding
and pay the Elks a visit. Last year when we were there I was changing a
rear end in the bus in 102* degree tempture today was about 95* and I
expect it will stay that way still we get closer to good old WASHINGTON

Day 11 The other woman on the move

The excitment of the day was Eagle meets Golden Eagle ,just driving down old
twisty curvy 93 the next thing I know there is a golden Eagle in my windshield
shattering the glass and over the top of the bus. The rest of the trip was pretty
boring but still good scenery !!!!

Day 10 The Other Woman on the move

Today we got a late start by the time we fueled but missed all those have to go to
workers!!! Found our way up to Sandpoint ID and got on 200 heading E along
the Pend Oreille lake that covers many miles and St Joe river feed the lake and
the highway  follows the river, great scenery, almost to Missoula when we turned off.
For dinner we went up to the  Lo Lo steak house, I skipped lunch just to have their
20 oz Porter house. Great Food.
In the morning we will spin the needle again and see where we are headed !!!!

Day 9 The Other Woman is resting

Today we spent the day with our old hot rod friends. The girls headed to the Casino
while Tom and myself  worked  on the jeep with a leaking rear wheel bearing seal
and consume a couple cold ones which used up most of the day.
The girls didn't do bad eather, my co-pilot picked up a couple hundred, while Judy
raked in 2400 green ones!!!
Will head out in the morning again, take on some fuel, spin the arrow on the map
and see where we go !!!!!!

Day 8 The Other Woman on the move

This morning we topped off on fuel and headed out on much flatter ground and I could tell
my co-pilot was much more relaxed, she even said a few words !! Still great scenery, lush
green valleys with rivers cutting there way thru the middle.The trip was fine till we missed a
turn outside of Spokane and run us right into the middle of town at quitting time. The GPS
was so confused , it timed out !!!! and the driver was close to timing out haha
In the morning we will hook up with Tom & Judy,the girls are heading to the Casino while
Tom & myself work on the Jeep to fix a leaking rear axle seal, maybe drink a beer or two !!!!!

Day 7 The Other Woman on the move

Wow! what a scenic drive that North cascade highway is, it has been along time since
we had been over that rode, I think my co-pilot might have enjoyed it more in the car
than the bus haha Not to many hills make me drop to 2 gear but there was several
on that climb and the corners are so sharp we would probably tip over anyway according
to my co-pilot, im sure there must be some embedded hand prints on her !!!
We are in a fair grounds atOkanogan today will take on some fuel in the morning and
see what scenery lies ahead.

Day 6 The Other Woman on the move

The goal today was to get thru Seattle , before rush hour which we did but
not without some excitment, Coming by Boeing field a group of rigs including
us had passed a red pickup going about 55 as if they were having problems about
2 miles down the road this red pickup comes passing us on the right pulls in front
of us and slams on his brakes. My co-pilot had just got up to go take care of a
couple things ,I yelled as I hit the brakes, but down she came face first, she got a small
cut on the bridge of her  nose from the glasses and loosened a couple front teeth, I'm
sure she will be sore in the morning but that didn't stop her from going to the Casino
here in Marysville  tonite !!!!!!

Day 5 The Other Woman on the move

Well today puts the end to a good rallly, Eat your donut breakfast and say your good-bys
the rest of us [ 4 couples ] cleaned  up the meeting hall and then treated ourselves to a
great lunch in Steveson before we went our seperate ways .The Other Woman fired right
up after her little rest, as we headed North I noticed it was taking less throttle to make the
bus move forward and it became evident that my dear co-pilot has put another Casino
magnet in this bus somewhere because it has pulled us right into the Lucky Eagle casino !!!
but it did give her $342 bucks to start off with but she must have a small magnet in her
pocket, cause she right back in there !!!!!!

Day 4 The other Woman is still resting

Today is a free day so most of the guys are heading to the Hoodriver museum Fly IN
and the girls shopping.or what ever they do. The Air Museum has a good variety of old
planes, cars, motorcycles etc and there must of been atleast  150 old planes that flew in
for the event bi-planes war birds and expermental air craft that don't look like they could
even fly let alone safely !!! We used up most of the day there and it was time to get back
to camp for rootbeer float time and then the Big dinner early in the evening, with live
music and the usual after dinner B S session. Good Day

Day 3 The Other is still resting

Had a few more buses roll in today, but spent most of the day visiting with people and just
hanging out. In the late afternoon we helped with serving dinner for 78 people, yes even me !!!
Had a great steelhead dinner with the trimmings and a local band that played a good variety
of music. The weather was a bit to warm for me a 80* with wind gusts of maybe 30 enough
to tear the girls greeting hut loose and turn it into a wasted hunk of metal tubing.that may or
maynot be repaired .  GOOD DAY all in all

Day 2 The other woman resting

This rally site is a great location for a rally of this size but how the power grids are
located  sure could have been better for getting power to 35 coaches. All the fliers
told people to bring extra power cords if you wanted power, some people just don't
read I guess,!
Can't believe there are so many crazy people with a interest in a old bus Canada had
4  Calif 5 Wash. Ore the rest, a little food some drink = a good time

Day 1 The Other Woman On The Move

So the plan for the day was to get out of Dodge by 8 AM and head for Skamania county
fairgrounds up the Columbia gorge for our last bus rally of the year and we made that
goal !!111 Traffic was lite heading up the river on the washington side pretty twisty narrow
road, I might of heard my co-pilot gasp once or twice, sitting up higher in the bus gives
you to good of a view down to the river or R/R tracks !!!! Had good signage set up for
incoming buses and early arrivals like us to help with rally set up. I believe there was 12
rigs here tonite with the rest of the 32 to arrive Friday !!!!

Day 4 The other woman on the move

We topped off on fuel before leaving Florence this morning [ $ 1.71 just
couldn't pass that up ] The drive N was not a fun drive, high winds and
buckets of rain. At Lincoln City we got on 18 and headed for high ground
and some shelter. I thought we were back in Kansas where we lost a
windshield from high winds. So my co-pilot found another what[ casino]
and thats where we parked for the night, the last I saw of her was knee
deep in water heading towards the casino !!!!

Day 3 The Other Woman on the Move

This morning we left Coos Bay with some clouds but no rain.
Was a great drive up the Coast with little traffic.  Arriving in
Florence mid afternoon at the Elks campgrounds along with the
rain.  Having plenty of time to drive around and check out old
town seeing some of the little shops trying to pick out a living.
Rumors around town was a shrimp feast at the casino so we had
to check that out but I kept a close eye on my co-pilot...ha ha

Day 2 The other woman 0n the move

This morning we said our see you later to Tom & Karen as they are headed further
South and us West, but that damn magnet draw that seems to follow us, was drawing
me this time to the casino, but just for breakfast !!! while my co-pilot just had to spend
the rest of her CASINO bucks and you know what, those Indians bought me breakfast
and many-many more  [happy face]
Leaving the casino we had to backtrack North to get on 42W which we had never
traveled before but was mostly a 2 lane up thru a wide open valley untill you reach the
summit and then changes to a number of narrow canyons twisting and turning following
different small rivers passing some old logging towns ready to give in to the test of
time, acouple old covered bridges that the STATE or residents tried to save.
As we got closer to the coast saw a number of old mills with a few still trying to hang
in there with the old log ponds and equipment to go with. By this time that magnet
draw had got a good hold on this old bus and pulled right into the Mill Casino in
Coos Bay.While I was plugging the bus in etc I was thinking about that prime rib
dinner on the flyer tonight so I headed back in the bus for my co-pilot to go check it
out,but only found a note with the word CASINO on it  !!!!!!

Day 1 The other woman on the move

So, as most of you know the OtherWoman has been laid up for awhile
but had to stand in the corner most of the time after she let us down on
our last Calif trip !! After a pretty major operation and a few $$$$$$$$
she says she feels like a new WOMAN and wants to go !!!
Today we are headed south with one of our BUS NUT FRIENDS and
so far the [ new woman ] is doing good. Stopped at Colberg for lunch
and went over to a old bus restoration shop or lets say they look old
but late model running gear I think the newest bus was a 55 and they all
had big $$$$$ signs in and out .
Well most of you can guess the next stop headed S the damn Casino magnet
somehow got back in the bus and its pulling both of these buses right in.
Had a good visit with our friends at dinner in the morning we will split,
they are headed on to Yuma and we will head over to the coast and check
things out headed North .
