Day 4 The Other Woman is still resting

Today was a do what you want day, after breakfast we just sorta visited with
some of the folks, Before we knew it , we almost missed LUNCH. After
lunch we  explored a excape route for in the morning. Came back and put
on a new set of wiper blades on the old bus and then it was happy hour
time and then dinner time !!!! Then the women run the guys out for some
card game.I almost forgot when we were out exploring we stopped at this
place called 14 Hands a high end wine sampling, we decided the cheap
shit was as good or better !!!!!!!!!

Day 3 The Other Woman is resting

Up and ready to face another day 7  o-clock, suns out , had our biscuts & gravy
breakfast with the group. Now I never thought we would go to a mary j wona
grow site with our bus group or any group. Well about half the group wanted to
find out about stuff.  Well 45 minutes later we are in the middle of a LEGAL
grow site 300 different types they only deal with 31, out side plant they only
get 2 crops, inside plants get 5 crops, 21/2 hours later we get back out in the
fresh air 1/2 buzzed and  alot wiser about marajuana !!!!!!

Day 2 The Other Woman on the move

So today we got up to heavy rain even drove the car over to the casino for
our big breakfast. That whole place just wreaked of that old cig smoke.
Was great to get back out in the rain and fresh air !!! We topped off our
fuel and back tracked a few miles to head over White Pass  US 12 the
farther E we went the darker the sky got and by Packwood it was rain
and snow by the time we reached the summit the ground was getting
white, a few miles E of the summit they had a detour because of a slide
that was about 10 miles out of our way on forest service roads but no
snow !!! The rest of the trip went good, found the RV park with the rest
of the bus nuts had  a potluck dinner the guys had a Detroit motor discussion
that finished off the evening.
In the morning we have option of going to a marajumia plant for a tour
don't know about that have to sleep on that one  haha

Day 1 The Other Woman on the move

We are off again and that old Casino magnet has just pulled this old bus right
into a damn casino so we went in for dinner while I went back for seconds I
found my co-pilot gone, so then I went back for thirds haha.
We are off to a bus rally in Prosser Wash. will head over White pass and see
if they got any snow
   Later

Day 4 The Other Woman on the move

Little bit on the cooler side this morning but that didn't stop anybody from
going up to our favorite breakfast spot[the onlyone in town] after our wasted
trip for that super chicken last night !! Well we stuffed ourselves again at
breakfast, made it back to camp and loaded up the buses for the trip home.
Nice drive back down along the Willamette river, the lead bus had to stop
several times because they drank too much COFFEE. The last stop at the
rest area we said our see you laters and I let that old CAT strech its legs and
get us home. Great trip!!!!   Keep checking next week, we head East for
a full scale rally instead of the mini rally  !!!!

Day 3 The other woman is still resting

Today was a take it easy day, the girls played some games and the guys were
discussing some important bus stuff !!!! We did make it up for breakfast
before noon, the waitress said we might as well stay for lunch.!!!!So
for dinner we had been told about this place 30 some miles up the road that
had the best FRIED CHICKEN. The afternoon flew by and itwas 5 o'clock
time to head out for this super chicken, WELL we should have left at 400
when we arrived this disappointed trucker was coming out saying he had
driven a half hour out of his way, only to find out they were OUT OF
CHICKEN   [darn it] a couple of Coor's lites later [No more Bud ] as long as
they support the NFL] we had some burgers & fish and forgot about the
CHICKEN .haha  Oh by the way my dear co-pilots luck has changed she
won enough on a pull tab to pay our food bill and a nice tip for thewaitress
and a few bucks back in her purse BUT i'm not heading south to her  7
FEATHERS this boy is going North  !!!!!!!!!

Day 2 The Other Woman is resting

So this morning we decided to drive a short distance to Oak Ridge for
breakfast, not as easy as it sounds, found 3 or 4 closed forever and alittle
Ma-Pa resturant that must have run the others out by serving one of the
best breakfasts we have ever had !!!!!
With the breakfast hunt over were off  to find the elusive Bohemia ghost
town  about 50 miles due  E of Cottage Grove, WAY up in them there hills.
The last few miles of this trec are 4 wheel drive and narrow but we made it.
The main shaft has been blocked off but the size of the tailing piles you can
imagine how far the shaft went back under the hill side. The rails for the ore
carts are still some what attached to the ties heading out on the wast piles,
part of the ore crusher is still there and one building is still standing strong.
Gold was first found here about 1860, just getting a somewhat road in was
a project, all blasted out of solid rock, had to be a 4 day trip with horse &
wagon. GREAT view of area off ridge before you head down to the mine..

Day 1 The other woman on the move

Today we are off on a mini rally, was going to be 3 buses but one had a family
emergency and had to cancell. We met in Vancover for breakfast and pulled in
the lot about 1 minute apart , thats always a good start for or with a group that
we have never run with before. Our destition for the day was Casey's riverside
RV park in Westfir Oregon a little bit SE of Springfield on 58 E BUT we over
shot and ended up in Drain oregon heading to the coast. haha !!! That was a
planned stop the other couple wanted to get a estimate on getting their bus
painted and we had heard some good reports about the place [ big place with
about a dozen rigs hot-rods to big trucks in different stages of paint ] there was
a 50 Ford panel they had done, beautful paint job !!!!!!!! So off to the park,
back on  I-5 N backtrack a bit and head toward Oakridge on 58 a nice drive
along the Willamette River didn't even know there was a DAMN up there. haha
Nice park right on the river even have a soft ice cream machine in the pavillion
building in the middle of the Park.
In the morning we are off 4 wheeling to find a  old ghost town East of Cottage
Grove ...

Day 11 The Other Woman on the move

Today we got our almost free breakfast between her points and giving me
4 dollars because I had a CDL license ??? That ia new thing since their remodel
we had a cheap breakfast, Got out of 7 Feathers around 10 with some cheap
Indian fuel and hit the road. Things went good over hill and dale till we got to
the I-5 ---205 split where a semi caught fire in the S bound lanes but N bound
got held up too,  the damn truck was on the S bound shoulder why stop N bound
am getting a bit anoid with fire people after being held up for 2!/2s on 299 and
the fire had burnt  thru there 2 days prior. So then we get to Woodland and the
Freeway is shut down again for awhile BUT we made it home !!!!!!!!!!!

Day 10 The Other Woman on the move

On the road by 7 and no cattle prod !!!! We rolled out of the park before 7 with
the old sun beating down already. Run up to Red Bluff took on enough fuel to
get out of Calif and over the hill to that cheaper Indian fuel.Traffic was lite so
we could roll right along and not much smoke from the fires. Got into 7
Feathers RV park with a park free ticket with my co-pilots contribution to the
poor indian fund. This placed is packed every time we are here. I think the indian
has outsmarted the white man !!!!!!! Will roll out for home in the morning and
get back to some of  my projects .  #1 fix daughters car that broke down  the other
day.

Day 9 The ther Woman is gonna move

Well, the races are over and we are ready to leave probably never to be
back to Chico and the Silver Dollar speedway. Hope to get a some what
of a early start in the morning.  I think my co-pilot had another free stay
at 7 Feathers that we will use. She got beat up pretty bad on our way
down at the Casinos I hope her luck changes !!!!!

Day 8 The other woman is still resting

One more day and we are out of here never to return. So last night they had a bigger
feild of dwarf cars than winged Sprints, and to put the icing on the cake the PA system
was all  screwed up couldn't understand a thing they were saying ! The  Sprints that
ran in there heat races just went out and kinda hot lapped like nobody wanted to pass.
The feature wasn't much better they did mix it up some the last 10 laps of a 30 lap
feature. I sure hope they put on a better show tonight !!!!!!!!

Thursday, September 7, 2017

Day 7 The Other Woman is resting

Well it didn't make a 100 today but still to damn warm. Our air conditioning equipment
is getting plenty of use ! We had to make a trip to the Olive Pit so my co-pilot could get
some kind of special Olive Oil !!!!!!! When it cooled down a bit we did some tow tarp
repair for any chip seal roads we might encounter on our way home. We decided not to
go to the races tonight just migets and Focus cars.Just hope a few more Sprint cars show
up for the races this weekend.

Day-6 The Other Woman on the move

Pretty laid back day, visited with a few people at the Elks ,met a lady from
'The Singles RV club that was good friends with another single lady that
had hooked up with Mel from our club, fun couple. We moved to our Chico
camp site this afternoon and went to the not like they use to be races in the
evening. Unless they pull a rabbit out of there hat for othere race program
here this will be our last year. It seems that alot of people have already decided
to do something different, normally this camp ground would be full and its
only 2/3 full same at the race track.

Tuesday, September 5, 2017

Day- 5 The other woman is gonna move

Well today was sorta a fix it day, repair the lite cord and tow bar damage but nowhere
could I find any rubber rope to fix our two tarp. So we wasted away most of the day .
Days back we had already made plans to go to Jacks steak house for dinner, the steaks
are great but the green salads are pretty damn good to !!!! They even chop the lettus up
like most places use to do,now the lazy  ******** just through some leafs on your
plate and call it a salad damn lucky if you get a slice of tomato and enough dressing to
even get started !!!!
Check for picture of  tow ball

day4 The other woman on the move

WELL ANOTHER NOT SO BORING DAY ON THE ROAD!!!!! Got a good
start this morning without the cattle prod.Took on a load of fuel and headed up
over the HILLS. Got thru inspections at the boader and headed on down to our
turnoff on 96 thru happy camp along the Klamath river what a nice curvy drive
heavy smoke at times. This is about 130 miles of twisty turny road and narrow at
times. We have thru here twice and had some kind of a trouble each time so this
was going to be the last and trouble free trip down this route WRONG !!!!!
Out on 299 heading E  towards Redding just rocky & rolling  thinking we have
just made our goal a trouble free trip down this road I FEEL THIS SUDDEN
JERK {****] I glance in my mirror and see the side of the tow car with the
tow bar dragging on the ground .Was able to sorta get off the road. This a first,
the stem on the 2" tow ball[sheared, broke off] what ever you want to say. I have
always be a fan of toad brakes if we hadn't one I believe the Jeep would have been
200 feet down the bank in the river. So my co-pilot got todrive, about 10 miles down
the road traffic came to a halt afire had burned thru the area 2 days ago and they were
only letting traffic thru every 2 hours [ come on ] whats the fire going to double back
and burn every thing again all the buildings trees and brush are gone. once we got thru
that bull shit  got into Redding and hooked up with our race friends at the ELKS

Sunday, September 3, 2017

Day 3 The other woman on the move

Lost and assumed thrown out 1 cattle prod !!!!!
Got up this morning to heavy smoke got a bite to eat and hit the road S, got
a little worried thought we missed our turn to get on 42 when we found  out
we were OK !  not a bad road but heavy smoke and poor visabilty in some
spots. Made into 7 Feathers but still heavy smoke . Will hit the big hill early
in the day get into Calif. then bail off I5 onto 96 down thru the Klamath
river and Happy Camp .

Saturday, September 2, 2017

Day 2 The other woman on the move

Well the batteries went dead in my cattle prod so we didn't get out of camp until after
9 this morning. Just because we are retired doesn't mean there is always another day'
lets get this show on the road and see whats around the corner !!!
Once we got on the road traffic was pretty lite and not much smoke but that changed
the farther S we went . My bypass road around the Casino was closed so I had to go
past the casino and that old magnet just pulled us in, brakes locked up and all and they
even had a spot with our name on it, I wonder how that happened? Got a front row spot
overlooking the bay by the time I got us unhooked and plugged in I tried to find my
Co-pilot but she already had disappeared in the smoke with those almost free Casino
bucks that were burning a hole in her pockets .

Day 1 The other woman on the move

Well, on the roadagain  ! Our target departure time this morning was 7 but we made it
by 6:30 . Its amazing what a new set of batteries will do in a cattle prod !!!!  Made it
over the R bridge without any traffic problems but Cornelius pass was a different story
ended up going into the big city and over the hill, East bound into portland was backed
up for miles makes me think of that damn Seattle.Traffic was lite heading towards
Tillamock. Got the next to the last spot at the Elks campground and they are putting in
8 new sites.
Headed out to find the old cemetery that I discovered,  had family buried there ,dating
back to the 1880's found 4,forsure grave sites with a very nice marker $$$$$. This was
a neat old cemetery on the hillside with this BIG old tree over looking some of the grave
sites. Makes me think of Boot Hill   !!!!
So after all that excersise we went to ELKS lodge in town for a big old Prime rib dinner
and a couple cold Buds for desert
In the morning we will head S into the Smoke

The other woman on the move

had to wear a OLD pair of glasses, abit hard on the old eye ball but we made
it HOME !!!!

The other woman on the move

Left our bus friends in Spokane, took on some fuel and headed towards Pendilton, was
a scenic drive on a old wagon road. but that hidden maginet of my co-pilots pulled
us right into that damn casino.

The other woman on the move

A small group of the club met Wed 5-24 to head N to the BC bus nut rally
Cranes- Harpers & bus nuts ralleybut first we had to do a field repair on one of
Harpers new tires!! The group rolled right Seattle with little traffic woes.
Stopped the first night at the Tulatip indain casino, still free parking and
a OK buffet.
The 2nd day was a short run [60] miles to the Swinomish casino with good
RV parking over looking the bay. The guys and girls split here girls to
LaConner to do their thing and the guys to a hot rod they had spotted on
the way in and then ended up back in LaConner to look at John Waynes
first yacht.
Day 3 took us towards the Sumus border crossing with all their traffic
circle.Crossing went quite well even after getting in the wrong line to
cross. 304 miles later we arrived at the BC bus nuts ralley in kamloops
B C at the Silver Sage RV park along the Thompson river and brought
the bus count to 19.The event was no host so that gave us time to look
around the area. Great group would go back again !!!!
Monday the group split Harper had to head home. Cranes & Goldbees
decided to go farther N and explore the area around Revelstoke BC.
From there SE to Gelana Bay and a free ferry boat ride across the
Upper Arrow Lake and the little Indian town of Nakusp a few miles
down the road we were able to get into the Summit Lake Prov. Camp
grounds.  With a beautiful space backed up right to the lake with the
clearest water.
From Summit Lake we headed on down 6S New Denver then headed
E on 31A.  Was quite a climb.  The streams were running over their banks
from the melting snow packs and the water falls were just crashing down.
The road pretty much following the river as it gets bigger to empty into
Kootenay Lake at Kaslo BC.
We were able to find another BC state campground type at Kokanee Creek.
Great parks.  After arriving Tom had to do some electrical work to get power
to their coach. The group decided to stay another night so we could check
out the area around Nelson. Viewed the old homes and stone architectural
churches and courthouses built on a really steep hillside.  From there the
group went back to Kaslo to look at the old town and buildings dating back
to the late 1800's and to take a tour of the SS Moyie;the world's oldest intact
passenger sternwheeler built in 1898 and worked until 1957 in that area being
one of the smaller sternwheelers weighing in at 834.7 tons.
Thursday headed home to the good ole USA.  Incoming border crossing went
well and was able to roll into Pat and Ann Horn's (some more Bus Nuts) in
Spokane for a visit and layover.

Day 1 The other woman on the move

Because of the cool weather today we wern't in a big hurry to get out of Dodge and
let the Portland traffic clear out. We only had a 5 hour drive to 7 Feathers Casino and
with good road it felt pretty good to pilot the old bus again even if we were going to
one of those casino's but my co-pilot had some casino bucks she just had to get rid of !!
It must of really been burning in her pocket, I didn't even have the bus fully set up  and
a green van pulled up in front and  poof she was gone !!! Now its snowing Cats & Dogs
and they say I 5 is closed . We were planning on going to the coast in the morning but
that might change and stay another night here !!! I think hwy 38 is pretty flat and would
be the way to go.
     Later
