Day 15 The other woman on the move

When we passed the I-5  --- 97 split today my co-pilot
was wide awake so I couldn't do the Casino switch
thing! Soon as we got parked at the casino she was
gone, like the devil was after her, haven't seen her move
that fast for a long time.!@#$%&*

Day 14 The other woman on the move

Boy we burnt up the asphalt today maybe 80 miles into
the Redding Elks .Found the whiskey store , filled half
of 1 cargo bay full of that nasty stuff with some misc
bottles stuffed where ever they would fit.
 Tomorrow up and over that big hill, I think my co-pilot
has a spot at 7 Feathers casino, maybe I will surprise her
and go 97 if she is counting sheep at the junction . maybe
a little pay back for leaving us at the food line the other
day !!!!!

Day 13 The other woman getting ready to move

Pretty quiet day, left the girls at RV so didn't have to
worry about any casino trickery.We have tried the last
2 years to catch the Butte canyon museum open
without much luck, was there an hour before closing
today !!!!
 The races are over for the year, the car count is still
way down from 15 years ago but they have added
different classes to fill in !!
 Will start heading N tomorrow a few miles a day.
This retirement is great but the pay is poor.

Day 12 The other woman still not moving

This morning once we got up and going the 4 of us headed
over to a hot rod shop that was having open house and free
lunch in conjuction with the races.About 6 different cars in
different stages of being a turn key car. The owner had and
drove the worlds fastest 34 roadster, 304 MPH at B. salt
flats,and the beautiful POW car ,55 chevy sedan with all
the names of lost and prisoners of the V war and 1/4 mile
speed of 162 MPH, looks good and goes fast !!!!!!!
Now the girls want to go to some Winery, my Co-pilot
has been getting pretty sneaky, so I started reading the
Winery info and sure enough there is a damn Casino next
door to the Winery, so I fouled that plan and took them
to a antique store !@#$%

Day 11 The other woman still resting

Well
We got settled in at the new RV site [Almound Tree] great
older park with lots of race fans, about 2 miles farther to the
race track !!
 Took the girls to some Olive place they just had to go and
the next thing I new we were at some Casino for lunch &
then the girls just vanished,like magic OK they want to play
games . We finished our lunch, went out to the car and left
for a couple of hours! didn't answer our phones. and when
we returned the girls came right out of that damn casino
didn't have to go in to find them .

Today we left the Elks, we might have killed one of
our air conditioners from low voltage so we moved
to a RV park with good power !!!! The races start
tonight so we did what most retired people do and
that is  NOT MUCH

Day 9 The other woman resting

Well, I think my mechanic had a few to many toddies
last night, he wasn't worth a shit today !!! he did get the
headlight relay out, only to find nothing wrong with it,
put it back in only to find everything working, should
have checked it  this morning after everything had
a chance to cool down before he started ripping and
tearing shit apart!!!!!!! and I refuse to pay him, he didn't
check the lites first, he just assumed and we all know
where that gets you.
 He did get the front of the bus washed and waxed and
a lb of bugs removed, and how many bugs does it take
to weigh a pound , a thousand about for this specie.
I did forget to mention last night when the Honda had
the dead battery, you are unable to open the rear hatch
and that is where the jumper cables were !! NO key
slot on the outside. Honda engineers with all their
wisdom say remove rear cover with screwdriver and
manually open latch @@@@@@@ so you have to
remove all the shit in your trunk, climb over the back
seat, you can't remove the spare tire cover with the
rear hatch closed, so you get all cramped up like a baby
in its mothers womb to get this damn cover off and they
get paid big dollars to come up with such a brillant idea >

Day 8 The other woman on the move

So I know what a bus driver feels like after a laid back
day at work !! 653 miles of putting up with some of the
most stupid people on the road !!!! We were going to
stay at Winnemucca for the night but things were pretty
full so we rolled on into Chico. I had always wanted to
run 32 from Susan ville into Chico, and I will never
do that again it was like a roller coaster ride and I won't
have to go to the gym for a few days.
 A few miles from the ELKS our dimmer switch quit
working and ofcoarse they were on hi beam so I made
a few more friends anyway they were waving !!!@#$%
Wanted to empty our tanks and someone had broke
there adapter off at the dump site and just left it !!!@##
Went to start the tow car [ the new car ] dead battery !@#
After I parked the bus I couldn't turn off my headlites
from what ever took a dump !!!@#%*
Maybe I can find a mechanic tomorrow if he is sober
enough to work that is !!!!!!!!!!!

Day 7 The other woman on the move

Today we run  #95 from Lewiston Id to Caldwell about
300 miles, past 1 casino while my co-pilot was once
again counting sheep. I think it was the Clearwater casino
looked pretty new and I did bring this up later in the day
just for something to say !!!!
This highway has it share of narrow and steep grades,
the Other Woman got a real workout, the steepest
grade was 8 miles long, the last 2 miles 8% !!!
like that old saying what goes up must come down  !!
and we did both, maybe thats hot it got the name of
Hell's  Canyon
We got the bug out of our new tire monitering system
so its working great.

Day 6 The other woman on the move

Had a nice scenic drive today, managed to slip by one of
those damn Indian casinos while my co-pilot was counting
sheep.  Sort of a little pay back for that scenic drive yesterday
that Judy and my co-pilot set up!!!!!
We ended up in Lewiston, Id at the Elks tonight. The spots
overlook the Snake river and we are the only ones here?????
Can watch those crazy boaters run up and down the river
burning gasoline.  Imagine how much money they are spending.

Day 5 The other woman on the move

The mystery ride !! I should have seen the lite at the end of
the tunnel!! Thought this was going to be a scenic ride up in
the northern part of Idaho and it was until we arrived at the
Chewelah Indian casino where Tom & I were told that we
are on our own and the girls disappeared into the Casino.
We did manage to find a great little museum, drove up to
the ski resort and spotted some old cars before we found our
way back to the casino just in time to see my co-pilot win a
nice little[ get our money back from the Indians]game!!!!!!!!

Day 4 The other woman on the move

SO
Today we really burnt some diesel maybe 5 gals. Moved from the
Spokane Elks to the Coeur d laine Elks nice site with about 30 wide
parking spots on grass.Found our old hot rod friends, checked out
there new house and just----------------------- the day away.
Mystery road trip tomorrow and they drive, can't get much better
than that  !!!!!!

Pretty laid back day, run 100 miles, got into the Spokane Elks
like we new where we were going and we had been there
before, very friendly lodge with a great chicken dinner !!!!

Day 2 The other woman on the move

So today we made a run for it and left  those blood sucking
creatures behind, climbed up out of the Yakima valley and
landed at the Moses lake Elks or tried that is, missed our turn
and got a unwanted tour of the big cities narrow streets. The
GPS was saying its there as we almost missed the narrow
entry road the second time, I didn't know I had so many friends
in a town WE had never been, the lodge was sorta like a pimple
on a elephants ass as the town had grown around the lodge.
 After that ordeal a little drink was necessary !!! now off to find
the train museum and The good old times car museum both
closed up and never to reopen..

Day 1 The other woman on the move

Well ! off again, as I got up and going this morning, I had set a
departure time in the back of my hopeful mind, that didn't work
out very good, maybe when I was 20 !!!
We had set the new Honda up for towing, which had a few different
steps that I hadn't shared with my dear Co- Pilot and as always the
last minute adjustments.
Traffic was lite so we rolled right along and made up some of that
lost departure time Ha Ha don't want to be late for Tee time as we are
parked at the Yakima Elks by the golf coarse, first time here, about 12
sites 50 amp power, nice clean grounds, but after the sun goes down
you DON"T go outside thousands of mosquitoses and now there is a
skunk somewhere CLOSE !!!!
 , SO something to think about, there are 12 sites here with 50 amp
power there was 1 rig here when we pulled in, I moved over 4
spaces, when we came back from dinner this guy had pulled in
close to us and put out his damn slides, all the sites are the same
view of the golf coarse, nice shade trees and the other 6 sites are closer to the
lodge if I see him in the morning I dont know which Vic he will meet !!

Day 56 ---The Other Woman On The Move

With Blue skies, lite traffic and full of fuel we are heading
home, leaving the Indians a bit richer thanks to my co-pilot
and thousands like her.
Our # 2 daughter was the one that talked me into doing this
to keep track of us and  keep me busy while my co-pilot is
where,[ The Casino ] Now I see our #1 & 3 daughters and
about 5 other followers that must follow my  B-S but no
# 2 daughter on the list of followers .

Day 55 ---The Other Woman On The Move

Our run from Chico to 7 Feathers went good, lite traffic and
cool weather and LOTS of bugs, it was getting to the point I
couldn't safely see.
Steak & Crab was the dinner special, now as we were eating
I noticed my co-pilot was almost done, she never beats me
when it comes to eating !!! UNLESS there is a damn Casino
in her vision.
So, a long story made short I'm setting in the bus talking to
myself , while shes exercises her finger !!!!!!!!!!!

Day 54 --- The Other Woman On The Move

Reno is just something in the rear view today, we run 80
west  until we got into Calif and switched to 20, on the map
it cut off some miles, was it faster I don't think so, only
saw 6or8 other dumb asses with rigs as big as ours on this
road, when we got out on good road it was right by a, yes
Casino but my co-pilot must of still had her eyes closed, and
I  just kept going, we have been in this area with the car on
our Chico's trips and thats where we stopped for the nite at
the Chico Elks.

Day 53 --- The Other Woman On The Move

 We headed out to Carson city today to check out the R/R
museum, I almost pasted on this one BUT I'm glad we went.
Now this isn't a large museum but they have a nice building
with 6 old steam engines , and misc cars but what they do
have is one of 3  V&T McKeen Motor Car now I have seen
a boxy looking thing that carried mail and a few passengers
but this is a step above, it does not have the original motor
or trans because this is used and displayed alot . The original
motor was a marine engine , which was a reversing  rotation
motor to be able to back the coach up but it wasn,t very
reliable to restart  when they turned it off to go the other way
so it got a little 3208 CAT diesel with auto trans.
On up to Virginia City, now Silver City and Gold ?? looks like
they are close to getting dug up by the mine , Virginia City is
a old town ,left old and it draws the people, I think it is called
a tourist trap built on a steep side hill .
 So on the way back to our home on wheels my co-pilot out
of the clear blue sky says, I can't go to Reno without going to
a CASINO I would never hear the end of it, well we went to
a casino and I watched her[throw] her money away.Now she
is trying to tell me I'm bad luck for her gambling hobby!!!!!!!!

Day 52 ---The Other Woman On The Move

Ride The Bus and Leave The Driving To Us , well I sorta
screwed up and bought the damn bus and that means leave
the driving to me. My co-pilot somehow got the cattle prod
and convinced me to run from Vegas to Reno about 503
miles. She did let me stop at Tonopah and check out some
of the old mining stuff , tough , hard , life , and its great
that there are  people that want to try and keep some of this
history alive for the next generations !!!! and make a few
dollars toboot

Day 51 ---The Other Woman On The Move

Today we headed  into Vegas first stop Pawn Stars and we
drove right on by, the line was almost a full block long and
no place to park.
Next stop was Ricks American Restorations, found a place
to park, signed up for the tour and we were in but you weren't
allowed to take pictures inside because of projects that might
be on TV later. The place sure isn't as big as it seems on TV.
Our third stop was Counts Kustoms the car guy, had to walk
a couple blocks on this stop, but we got right in , seen his
private car collection but we didn't get to see the shop area.
So to finalize our trip to the city that never sleeps, after it got
dark we drove the strip to check out the lites !!!!!

Day 50 --- The Other Woman On The Move

Today we are off to Hoover dam , but when we rounded the
last corner I asked my co-pilot doesn't anybody work anymore ?
I would of liked to take a tour but I learned my lesson back at
Zion N P anyway a few facts about this damn dam.
Height 726ft Length 1,244 Cost 175 million 6.6 million tons of
concrete and contains 9.2 trillion gallons of water and created
America's largest man-made reservoir Lake Mead, the project
was started 1931 the last concrete was poured in 1935 and the
first generator was making power Oct of 1936, 2 years ahead
of schedule !!!!
They say the town of Boulder built Hoover Dam but I think
if wasn't for the dam there wouldn't be a Boulder but I had
to check the R/R museum with some old engines that probably
helped get supplies to the dam, you can still see the tunnels
where the tracks were laid to move the supplies for the build .
Last stop the Shelby museum, one of the very first ones to
current and  the shop with cars and trucks in various stages
of completion,  Neat and for 154,000 dollars you can end up
with a 1100hp new Shelby and you supply the base car and
they keep all take off parts !!!!
