and the 12th day with a new pastime

Today we got another early start , headed for the Lewis and Clark caverns
big 76 miles rolled in got a good spot. From the campgrounds the caverns
were about 4 miles up a twisty back road . Got signed up for the caverns just
in time. The first words out of the tour guides mouth we have 2 hrs to go
2 miles the first 3/4 miles steep uphill, with 452 steps once you are in the
caverns. Looking around I am the oldest guy here [maybe my co-pilot had
the right idea, sit this one out ] oh well here we go, and the old fat man did
pretty good, some of those young ones were stepping on their. tongues by the
time we got to the cavern entrance. The Indians talked of these caverns
[ smoking hole in rock ] but the white man didn't discover them until the late
1890s when some hunters found them, lots of things occurred from then to
1939 when the state opened them to the public. These are probably the most
unique caverns Ive been in and worth the effort to visit.
Now my new pastime, we got back to the bus before most of the campers
started pulling in and that was showtime, guys trying to back trailers into their
spot, wives waving their arms, and some pretty intense chat.I think this is even
better entertainment than the boat ramps.
Did anyone see the double moon tonite? Or was this a Montana thing!
