Tonight we are in Laramie Wyoming and were back in the wind again , 80 was closed
to small camp trailers and such, we just rock & roll down the road but not to music but
I sure am getting tired of chasing my hat, don't dare let go of the door would probably
tear it off the hinge and you need 20lbs of weight to keep the portable satellite on the
ground.with that said
So on the way into town we did see the Vedauwoo rocks considered a sacred place
to the Indians, to us they were oddly shaped rocks of all sizes let your mind run wild.
My Co-Pilot wanted to see the Ames Monument which was 2 miles off I 80 the gravel
road appeared to be OK so off we went bus & tour car drove right up close and then.
they had done some road work on the back side of the monument and beer 30 must of
came [ what a mess ] I didn't want to unhook and back out 1/2 mile to main road so
air up the suspension and go for i t.. OK we are at the base of this monument at a elevation
of 8,187 ft this granite pyramid was built by UP RR in1882 on the original transcontinental
route to honor the Ames brother for there help building this part of the RR
To finish off the day we visited the Wyoming Territorial prison, I was Butch Cassidy who lifted
233,905 dollars, did some time but got away never to be found, My Co- Pilot on the other hand
was Minnie C Snyder who was in for manslaughter. The prison is 1 of the oldest buildings in the
state built in 1872 and closed in 1903
